The Digit Symbol test is a Neuropsychological test. It is used to assess cognitive function and information processing. The patient must memorise a cipher which assigns a symbol to a numerical counterpart. The patient can then be assessed on the ability to recall the cipher correctly and the time taken to complete the test.
